Edison & Ford Winter Estates Offers FREE admission t= o Lee County Residents on July 4, 2009

Fort Myers, Florida (July 1, 2009) - Beginning July 1, the Edison & Ford Winter Estates will distribute tickets to Lee County residents for FREE admission = to the Estates on July 4, 2009. Tickets must be picked up at the Estates ticket office before July 4 to receive FREE admission and proof of residency is required. Offer is good only on July 4 and t= here are a limited amount of tickets availa= ble on a first-come first-serve basis<= /b>. Four tickets per family will be allotted to each Lee Country resident request.

Visitors will enjoy the newly restored Ford home, the national award winning historic Edison buildings, the Edison Botanic Resear= ch Lab and the 15,000 square foot (air conditioned) Museum with an impressive collection of inventions, artifacts, special exhibitions, and archives.

The= Estates is open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The Estates was awarded the National Trust for Historic Preservation Award in 2008 and is an offici= al project of “Save America’s Treasures” at the National Tru= st for Historic Preservation, a Florida Historic Landmark and a National Regis= ter Historic Site.
