Hands-on History

Edison & Ford Winter Estates Summer Camp<= /span>

 

Fort Myers, Florida (May 6, 2009)-Inventor’s Summer Camp 2009 at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates is a great way for children to experience history, science and the arts first-hand at the Nati= onal Register Historic Site.

 

Beginning June 1, there are eleven week long day camps w= hich continue through the final week long session, August 10 – 14.  Activities are centered in the air-conditioned and restored Edison Caretaker’s House and include experiences throughout the historic site.  

 

 The Estates is a living lab, where = each project or activity challenges campers in the sciences, art and nature to a= sk questions and discover the answers for themselves while having fun. The following sessions are open for enrollment:

Registration is required.  To enroll you child in the Estates Inventor’s Summer Camp call the Estates Education Department at 239-334-7419.  Camps hours are= 9 AM – 4 PM.  The cost per session is Estates Members $200, non members $230.
